SART & Attendance Intervention
Updated 2025-03-01When and how to escalate a SART case to SARB or other interventions.
Escalation Criteria
A SART case should be escalated when:
- Attendance contract has been violated
- Family is unresponsive after multiple contact attempts
- Student has accumulated 15+ unexcused absences
- All school-level interventions have been exhausted
Escalation Steps
- Document all interventions and contact attempts
- Complete the SARB referral packet
- Include attendance records, intervention logs, and communication history
- Submit to district SARB coordinator
- Update case stage to "Escalated" in the system
Important Notes
- Always consult with administration before escalating
- Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate
- Maintain copies of all correspondence
- Consider whether additional supports (SST, counseling) may be appropriate before escalating
